Compac F on unMineable
How to Set Up Goldshell Compac F on unMineable
If you own a Goldshell Compac F and want to use it with unMineable, you can connect the miner to unMineable's Scrypt pool and receive your mining rewards in a supported cryptocurrency. The Compac F is a Scrypt ASIC, so it is configured through unMineable's Scrypt mining pool rather than through GPU mining software.
This guide explains the basic setup process, including how to connect the Compac F to your network, configure the mining pool, enter your wallet address, add a worker name, and optionally use an unMineable referral code.
What You Need Before Starting
Before configuring your Goldshell Compac F, prepare:
Goldshell Compac F miner
Compatible power supply
Ethernet/network connection
Computer, tablet, or smartphone on the same network
Wallet address for the cryptocurrency you want to receive
unMineable account or wallet-based mining information
An internet connection
The Compac F should be connected to your local network before you attempt to configure the pool settings.
Connect the Compac F
Connect the power supply to your Goldshell Compac F and connect the miner to your router or network using Ethernet if required by your model.
After powering it on, allow the miner a few moments to start.
You then need to find the miner's local IP address. Depending on your network and Goldshell software, this may be possible through your router's connected-device list or Goldshell's available management tools.
Once you know the IP address, enter it into your web browser.
For example:
http://192.168.1.100
The exact IP address will be different on your network.
Open the Goldshell Miner Interface
After entering the miner's IP address, you should see the Goldshell management interface.
Log in and look for the section used to configure the miner or mining pool.
Goldshell's current miner tutorials use a pool configuration section where users can enter the pool URL, miner/worker name, and password.
The exact menu names can vary depending on the firmware version installed on your Compac F.
Select the Scrypt Algorithm
The Goldshell Compac F uses the Scrypt algorithm.
This is important because unMineable has separate pool endpoints for different mining algorithms.
unMineable currently supports ASIC mining through Scrypt, SHA-256, Equihash and other supported algorithms.
For the Compac F, select the Scrypt configuration.
Enter the unMineable Pool URL
For the main unMineable Scrypt pool, enter:
stratum+tcp://scrypt.unmineable.com:3333
unMineable currently lists several Scrypt endpoints, including TCP port 3333, port 13333 and port 80, as well as SSL connections through port 4444 and port 443.
A simple configuration is:
Pool URL:
stratum+tcp://scrypt.unmineable.com:3333
Password:
x
Enter Your Wallet and Worker Name
The worker field is important because this tells unMineable which cryptocurrency you want to receive and where the mining rewards should be credited.
The general format is:
COIN:YOUR_ADDRESS.WORKER_NAME
For example:
BTC:YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS.CompacF
Replace BTC with the supported coin you have selected and replace YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS with your own valid wallet address.
You can choose almost any convenient worker name, such as:
CompacF
or:
CompacF01
unMineable's ASIC setup documentation uses the format:
COIN:YOUR_ADDRESS.WORKER_NAME
and explains that the worker name is used to identify your miner.
Example
If you were mining toward a BTC balance, the configuration could look like:
Worker:
BTC:YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS.CompacF
Password:
x
Do not copy the example wallet address. Always use your own valid address for the selected cryptocurrency.
Add an unMineable Referral Code
unMineable also supports referral codes.
According to unMineable's current referral information, the referral code is added after the worker name using the # symbol.
The format is:
COIN:YOUR_ADDRESS.WORKER_NAME#REFERRAL-CODE
For example:
BTC:YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS.CompacF#YOURCODE
unMineable also states that if the # symbol is not accepted by a particular setup, an alternative syntax using ?ref= can be tried.
Referral codes are applied at the worker level, so make sure the code is included correctly if you want the referral to be associated with that worker.
Save the Configuration
After entering the settings, click Save, Apply, or the equivalent button in your Goldshell interface.
The Compac F should then attempt to connect to the unMineable Scrypt pool.
Give the miner some time to establish the connection.
A successful connection should normally show information such as:
Pool connection status
Mining speed
Accepted shares
Rejected shares
Worker status
Mining activity
Goldshell's documentation notes that a successful pool connection can be confirmed by the pool status becoming active and by observing a hashrate curve or mining activity.
Check Your unMineable Dashboard
Once the Compac F starts submitting shares, visit unMineable and check your mining statistics.
The pool calculates its own calculated hashrate (CHR) from submitted mining activity. This is different from the hashrate reported locally by the miner.
unMineable explains that calculated hashrate can be affected by valid and invalid shares, stale shares, network conditions, latency and downtime.
Therefore, don't be concerned if the dashboard does not immediately display the same hashrate shown by your miner.
Allow the miner to run for some time before judging its pool performance.
Troubleshooting the Compac F
The miner will not connect
Check that:
The Ethernet connection is working.
The miner has an IP address.
The pool URL is correct.
You selected Scrypt.
The wallet address is correct.
The worker format is correct.
Your router or firewall is not blocking the connection.
You can also try another unMineable Scrypt endpoint, such as:
stratum+tcp://scrypt.unmineable.com:13333
or the SSL endpoint:
stratum+ssl://scrypt.unmineable.com:4444
unMineable recommends multiple pool ports in its ASIC setup documentation so a miner can reconnect to another endpoint if a connection fails.
The worker appears but has no hashrate
Give the miner some time to submit shares.
Also check that you have not accidentally selected the wrong algorithm or entered an incorrect wallet/worker format.
An incompatible algorithm can result in invalid shares and a calculated hashrate of zero.
The wallet is showing an error
Check the wallet address carefully.
The address must be valid for the cryptocurrency and network you selected. unMineable specifically warns that an invalid address can cause pool errors.
Example Compac F Configuration
A basic unMineable Scrypt configuration can look like this:
Algorithm:
Scrypt
Pool URL:stratum+tcp://scrypt.unmineable.com:3333
Worker:COIN:YOUR_ADDRESS.CompacF
Password:x
With referral:COIN:YOUR_ADDRESS.CompacF#YOURREFERRAL
Replace COIN, YOUR_ADDRESS, and YOURREFERRAL with your actual information.
